"Wrote his own lyrics, sang without auto tune and played the guitar and piano. It's almost like he was a real musician or something. How far music has fallen since 1986."

Nogal 'n ietwat onderskatte sangeres, of hoe?
"It's nine o'clock on a Saturday The regular crowd shuffles in There's an old man sitting next to me Makin' love to his tonic and gin He says, "Son, can you play me a memory I'm not really sure how it goes But it's sad and it's sweet and I knew it complete When I wore a younger man's clothes" La la la, di da da La la, di da da da dum Sing us a song, you're the piano man Sing us a song tonight ."
Die oorspronklike weergawe van sy wiegeliedjie.
'n Kritikus: "Billy Joel can not only write some wonderful lyrics, but he can sing them like they belong to his soul - and even better, play the hell out of the piano to accompany himself. He's brilliantly talented."
"Wrote his own lyrics, sang without auto tune and played the guitar and piano. It's almost like he was a real musician or something. How far music has fallen since 1986."
Hierdie twee 70 plussers sing sonder 'auto-cue", beter as heelwat ander sangers wat hul kleinkinders sou kon wees.
Van die kommentaar op Youtube: "Even though Billy Joel didn't fight in Vietnam, he definitely seems to have captured the feel of the fighting. It's amazing how Billy Joel captures the feelings of fear, war and brotherhood. This song is remarkably the best he's written."
Nog Youtube kommentaar: "I have been listening again and again to this song for several hours now. The metering is hymnal. The words: conditional and subjunctive. Transactional at the last plea. It's like an unsent love letter which was accidentally read."
"I saw her standing there", saam met Paul McCartney
